Your fan does not have to leave the video to buy the thing you just played. As of August 27, 2026, eligible U.S. channels can tag Amazon products inside YouTube — Shorts, long-form videos and livestreams — and earn a commission on qualifying sales. The catalog is huge. The door is still a gate.
YouTube opened Amazon. It did not open the gate.
YouTube’s own announcement is dated August 27, 2026. TechCrunch reported it the same day. YouTube Help lists who can actually tag: channels in the YouTube Partner Program and U.S. Shopping Affiliate Program, with an active Amazon Influencer or Associates account linked to the channel. Only one YouTube channel can be eligible per Amazon account.
Tags can show worldwide. YouTube may match a tagged product to a local merchant so a sale can still earn commission on an international click. If there is no local match, the tag may route to Amazon U.S. or the viewer’s local storefront.
That is the product. It is not a free-for-all. A U.S. channel that is already in Partner and Shopping can start now. Your channel, with a real catalog and 800 listeners who actually care, cannot tap “Tag products” and pretend the gate moved.
We do not wait until you already look like a storefront. The work is growing your YouTube until the tag is earned — and putting niche creators on your music who can tag while you get there.
Four plays for an artist who is not in the club yet
1. Grow the YouTube channel that can qualify.
Shopping sits on top of the Partner Program. No Partner Program, no Amazon tag on your videos. YouTube Music Promotion is the long-form, Shorts and paid layer that builds qualified viewing around the release. We do not guarantee a subscriber count.
2. Put a product in the video, or the tag has nowhere to live.
The guitar you play. The interface on the desk. Vinyl, a sample pack or merch that actually exists in Amazon’s catalog. A performance video with nothing to tag is still a performance video. It is not a shop.
3. Seed niche creators who already talk to your listener.
You do not have to be the only person who tags. A guitar channel, a producer channel or a scene page that uses your record can carry the product next to the song. Our Influencer & UGC Marketing work already runs nano through recognized names. The public page says the network ranges from 1K followers to 100M+. Fit beats follower count. A 4K guitar channel that plays your riff will beat a 2M lifestyle dump that never names the track.
4. Build the shop into the campaign, not onto a date.
The work is the videos, the creators and a tag when the channel earns it. Small artists and large ones sell from the same kind of video because the small one was grown on purpose.
What MusicPromoToday actually runs
MusicPromoToday is a music marketing agency, not an Amazon storefront shop. Since 2012, we have built campaigns around your release: PR, creators, advertising and streaming under one brief. A strategist reviews every one.
YouTube Music Promotion starts from $3,500 a campaign. Ad spend and UGC sit in the scope as published. We do not guarantee views.
Influencer & UGC Marketing starts from $7,500 a month. Nano, micro, mid-tier and known names, depending on the brief. Rights are defined in writing before anyone shoots.
Creators sit in Los Angeles. Editorial sits in New York. We do not only take artists who are already monetized. We also do not pretend we can enroll your channel in YouTube’s programs for you.
We do not sell a loophole
We guarantee the work. We do not guarantee Partner Program approval, Shopping access, an Amazon tag, a commission rate or a merch number. No agency controls YouTube’s eligibility list.
If you want a storefront glued onto a dead channel by Friday, we will pass. If you want a campaign built around the release — your videos, your creators and a tag when it is earned — plan the release.
