Sync Licensing

Sync Campaigns Built Around Music Brands Actually Use

MPT prepares the story, assets, rights notes, and targeting that make a track easier for music supervisors, libraries, and brand music teams to evaluate—then runs disciplined outreach, follow-up, and reporting. We do not sell guaranteed sync placements.

Sync Licensing campaign work by MPT Agency

Campaign strategy

A sync campaign is a placement process—not a placement promise

  • Sync licensing places music alongside moving images, products, games, trailers, sports, advertising, retail, and other commercial environments
  • MPT's role is to improve how the opportunity is packaged, targeted, pitched, tracked, and handed off when interest becomes real
  • MusicPromoToday does not represent that a supervisor, library, agency, brand, or production will select a track.
  • A credible campaign begins with the music and its actual use cases

How it works

How a sync licensing campaign works

01

Rights and readiness

Confirm who controls the master and composition, identify samples or approvals, review metadata, and flag any issue that could slow evaluation or clearance.

02

Usage angle map

Translate the sound, lyric, tempo, mood, audience, visual identity, and cultural context into a focused set of credible commercial use cases.

03

Materials and edits

Prepare the one-sheet, clean and instrumental versions, stems or cut-downs where available, ownership notes, identifiers, lyrics, and contact path buyers need.

04

Targeting

Build a campaign list across relevant supervisors, agencies, libraries, brand music teams, producers, and other qualified channels based on fit—not volume alone.

05

Outreach and follow-up

Run structured pitching and follow-up, capture feedback, answer readiness questions, and avoid indiscriminate mass submission that damages future credibility.

06

Opportunity handoff

Log interest and next steps, coordinate the client response, and hand legal, clearance, publishing administration, or negotiation work to the appropriate rights professionals.

What You Get

What this is designed to change

The goal is to turn an undefined wish for sync into a documented, rights-aware campaign that buyers can evaluate quickly.

01

Turn “maybe sync someday” into a scoped pitch system with a clear campaign owner, target universe, timeline, and reporting rhythm.

02

Package the track around credible usage angles such as trailers, lifestyle, sports, games, advertising, retail, or branded content.

03

Build supervisor-ready materials including a concise one-sheet, edit list, metadata, contact information, and clean rights notes.

04

Separate MPT's earned pitch work from paid library access, broker charges, placement fees, production costs, and other third-party expenses.

05

Give the client dashboard visibility into targets, outreach status, follow-up, responses, open questions, and next actions.

06

Client Dashboard: all results, campaign progress, updates, and client meetings are transparently communicated through your client dashboard.

What You Get

What a typical scope includes

The written scope identifies the exact deliverables, campaign period, outreach category, reporting cadence, client responsibilities, and third-party costs before work begins.

  • Master and composition rights-readiness review, with unresolved ownership or sample issues documented before outreach.
  • Sync angle map connecting the track to specific moods, scenes, audiences, environments, territories, and brand-safe usage ideas.
  • Supervisor-ready one-sheet, metadata checklist, contact path, edit inventory, and recommendations for missing clean, instrumental, cut-down, or stem files.
  • Prioritized target list across relevant supervisors, libraries, agencies, producers, and brand music teams, subject to the approved campaign category.
  • Pitch development, campaign outreach, disciplined follow-up, response tracking, opportunity log, and client-dashboard reporting.
  • Handoff support when an interested party requests additional assets, rights confirmation, clearance information, or a conversation with the rights holder.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Does MusicPromoToday guarantee a sync placement?

No. MPT guarantees only the approved strategy, asset preparation, targeting, outreach, follow-up, and reporting in the written scope. Selection and licensing decisions are made independently by supervisors, agencies, brands, libraries, producers, and rights buyers.

What rights need to be clear before outreach begins?

The client should know who controls the sound recording and composition, whether any samples or interpolations require approval, and who can respond to a clearance request. Unresolved ownership can stop a real opportunity, so rights readiness is reviewed before pitching.

What assets should an artist prepare for sync?

At minimum: the final master, clean version where relevant, instrumental, accurate metadata, writers and publishers, ownership contacts, lyrics, identifiers, artwork, and a concise artist story. Stems, cut-downs, alternate mixes, and one-stop clearance can improve readiness when genuinely available.

Is MPT a publishing administration company?

Not under this service. This page describes campaign support, not royalty collection, copyright registration, publishing administration, legal clearance, or contract negotiation. Those responsibilities remain with the client and their qualified rights, publishing, and legal partners unless separately agreed in writing.

Are library, broker, or placement fees included?

No. Any library access, broker, production, legal, clearance, travel, placement, or other third-party expense is identified and approved separately. MPT does not hide those costs inside an outreach fee.

How long does a sync campaign take?

The active campaign period is defined after review and depends on readiness, the target category, timing, and buyer cycle. A campaign can create qualified conversations, but licensing decisions may happen quickly, take months, or not occur at all.
