2 Years After His Death, Electronic Dance Music Superstar Avicii Still Fascinates The World
Today marks the two year anniversary of Avicii’s death, and fans from all over the world paid a moving tribute to the late musician on social media. On April 20, 2018, in Muscat, Oman, Avicii – real name Tim Berling, committed suicide, and the funerals were held in his hometown of Stockholm in June 2018.
The Swedish DJ and record producer rose to prominence in 2013 with the release of his debut album True, reaching the second place on UK Album Charts. Following-up on this resounding success with countless hits, Avicii also collaborated with legendary artists such as Coldplay, Rita Ora, and Robbie Williams.
Avicii was a man of strong vision and unrelenting will. Always experimenting with a variety of influences in his sound, he was a true musical genius with a pure understanding of melody, and possessed a natural ability at producing and giving vocal direction in all of his recording sessions.
The last work left by Avicii was the album Tim, which he had been working on and was almost ready before his death. It was released as a posthumous last work, and all proceeds went to the Tim Bergling Foundation for mental health awareness.
All over social media, millions of fans paid tribute to the electronic dance music superstar, expressing their sorrow and sympathies, and sharing their most memorable memories and moments related to Avicii’s music.
