Universal’s Virtual Band “KINGSHIP” – the first-ever metaverse music group, now has a new female manager
Universal Music Group’s 10:22PM, a next-gen Web3 label that discovers and develops artists, intellectual property, brands and digital creators, announced back in November the formation of KINGSHIP, a group consisting of four characters from the Bored Ape Yacht Club, one of the most successful non-fungible token (NFT) projects of all time.

In making the announcement, Celine Joshua, founder of 10:22PM, said, “Creating KINGSHIP has been incredibly fun and imaginative. I started 10:22PM to push the boundaries of innovation in the music industry and with KINGSHIP, we’re literally inventing what’s possible in real time. Just as we would with any artist or creator, my team and I will work with KINGSHIP to sharpen their vision and develop their unique sound. Each member of the group has their own story and personality that influences and contributes to KINGSHIP’s overall narrative. Through music and events across the metaverse, we will bring the Apes in KINGSHIP to life by building communities and utility, and entertaining audiences around the world.”
10:22PM’s plan is seemingly to create a virtual group that will have their own ongoing story, which will conveniently fit around the release of music and staging of virtual live performances. And there will be with no doubt plenty of new NFTs related to the band put on sale as part of the whole endeavour.
Last week, as part of their ongoing story, the label introduced the female manager of KINGSHIP, Manager Noët All.

With their purchase of a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT, specifically #5537, which cost them the ethereum equivalent of $361k, the virtual band now has its female manager, called Manager Noët All. Other members of the band include a Mutant Ape and three Bored Ape NFTs. These include a rare solid gold NFT and one that features the blue beam trait.
The founder of 10:22PM, Celine Joshua, commented on the KINGSHIP band, stating: “We have been incredibly busy developing KINGSHIP since our initial announcement. I’m so excited to introduce Manager Noët All, one of many new characters that will be joining the KINGSHIP universe. As the manager of the group, Manager Noët All will help drive the storyline and allow us to communicate with the community.”
She added: “We hope to make the KINGSHIP universe as entertaining and immersive as possible. While simultaneously building value for holders. With the launch of KINGSHIP’s official Discord, the community will have a home where members can interact with one another. Also, they can get all the latest updates on KINGSHIP’s journey, including how to access the allowlist. Stay tuned, there’s so much to come.”
Virtual bands are nothing new. The iconic Gorillaz have been around since the late 1990s and we’ve all been “feelin’ good” listening to their music. Another example is one of Japan’s biggest pop stars, Hatsune Miku, an animated representation of a piece of vocal generation software that anyone can use.
