New On TikTok: A Music Distribution Platform Through SoundOn!

Share With

SoundOn, an all-in-one platform for music marketing and distribution, has been officially launched by TikTok. It is intended to empower fresh and emerging musicians by assisting in their career development.

With the help of TikTok’s own promotion and music distribution platform, SoundOn, musicians can expand their fan bases, find their creative voices, making their songs available to a global audience.

The technology enables musicians to easily upload their songs to TikTok and start getting paid royalties when their music is played.

New artists and musical creators are a vibrant community within TikTok and SoundOn is designed to support them as they take the first steps in their career. Our SoundOn teams will guide creators on their journey to the big stage and bring the expertise and power of TikTok to life for the artist. We’re incredibly excited about how this will surface and propel new talent and how SoundOn will contribute to an increasingly diverse and growing global music industry.

In addition to offering a variety of marketing supports and services, SoundOn pays music creators 100% royalties for the first year and 90% after that.

Artists that join up are granted access to TikTok’s music section, whereby music is linked on profile pages, audience intelligence, and growth, professional coaching from a specialized SoundOn artist team, help for promotion through creator marketing on the TikTok platform, and more. Other music streaming services can receive content from SoundOn.

Because of this, fan devotion goes beyond TikTok and aids artists in growing their fan bases on other streaming platforms and Digital Service Providers.

TikTok Launches Music Distribution Platform: SoundOn

Reflecting on her experience, singer-songwriter and the artist behind “Hrs and Hrs” Muni Long said:

SoundOn has created a space where anybody can be exactly who they want to be. No matter your background, your upbringing, your race, your creed, your age, you can enter the space and claim your place. I’ve done that already and I plan to keep doing it over and over again. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be myself in front of the world through TikTok.

Speaking about working with the TikTok and SoundOn team UK artist Abby Roberts commented:

I’m at the start of my music journey and am so excited about what’s still to come! I’ve worked with the team at TikTok through my whole career and they’ve always been so supportive of me, so I really valued the extra support and help I’ve got from SoundOn launching my music now as well. I’m loving sharing my music and creativity with my fans and hopefully reaching new ones too!

At the Sydney Laneway Festival, TikTok formally launched SoundOn’s entrance into Australia, calling it an “integrated platform for music marketing and distribution” that aims to support up-and-coming musicians.

Lots of Australian artists have been discovered and found new fans through TikTok, so we’re excited to help artists get their music to fans through our new service SoundOn. Backed by a team of local music industry experts, SoundOn gives artists a new way to distribute their music to digital platforms and grow their fanbases.
