An interesting turn of events has caused NFT’s fame to shoot up recently. For example, several companies and bigwigs in the crypto industry have used NFTs to take the edge off the effects of the war between Russia and Ukraine. Another NFT-related event that went viral recently was the release of Randi Zuckerberg’s We’re All Gonna Make It (WAGMI) song which aimed to educate people about NFTs, which fired back with negative feedback from the audience.
A special thanks to all the crypto bros hating on my music video by retweeting and sharing it more broadly. Couldn’t have asked for a better guerilla, I mean gorilla, marketing department! 🤣🤣🤣

These and other events casually brought the topic of NFTs to the table. Needless to say, they have fueled the flames of the growing NFT craze. This means that with NFTs gaining popularity, NFT companies have also gained more attention. Whether you are here simply out of curiosity or because you have an investor’s mind, you may have some suggestions.
What are NFT companies?
Many of those in the NFT space have learned about NFT companies through blockchain games like Axie Infinity, Thetan Arena, and Bomb Crypto. And some others focus on NFT art collections and even real-world assets.
These companies do much more than just create NFTs and build NFT projects, such as collaborating with other NFT companies to further develop the next-gen digital space AKA Web3. They basically exist to help grow the metaverse.
So, what are the 5 NFT companies worth looking into this year? Let’s dive right in!
#1 Enjin
Enjin offers an entire ecosystem of products and solutions that make using NFTs much easier. The company caters to three main categories: individuals, businesses, and developers.
For individuals, it offers the Enjin Wallet, which is a blockchain and crypto wallet that helps you easily manage your NFTs and crypto assets directly through your phone, whether you’re on Android or iOS.
As for businesses, Enjin has created business solutions using blockchain technology. Founders can use NFTs to grow their businesses with Enjin’s software and can partner with Enjin to create, manage and monetize NFTs that represent their brand.
Additionally, Enjin loves making developers’ lives easier, it provides development tools that help create NFT-based projects like games, apps, and websites without the need for prior blockchain coding experience.
#2 Gala (Gala Games and Gala Music)
This company kicked off with Gala Games, which aims to create blockchain games people actually love to play. Their “fun first” motto makes their games enjoyable even to blockchain newbies by using simple game mechanics. They’ve also made it possible for players to be the true owners of whatever they win in-game.
After gaining the people’s trust, Gala Games grew to cater to a wider number of fans. Then soon enough, Gala accelerated to launch Gala Music. The music NFT platform welcomes artists and bands who can drop NFT music tracks, and fans who can purchase these music NFTs and get real-world rewards from the artist.
Both Gala Games and Gala Music operate on decentralized “Nodes.” Once you purchase a Node software license, you’re powering the entire Gala network, which makes you a pioneer. You’re essentially hosting music or a game on your node and in return you are rewarded for your contribution to the network.
#3 Larva Labs
Larva Labs is a mobile software company based in New York City and was founded in 2005 by John Watkinson and Matt, you’ll see their cute little characters welcoming you on their website’s homepage. This company mainly develops applications for iOS and Android devices and is much more notable for its NFT projects.
These include the OG NFT profile picture (PFP) collection on Ethereum, CryptoPunks which has yielded more than $1.75 billion worth of trading volume to date, Meebits, an NFT collection of unique 3D characters, and Autoglyphs, the first on-chain generative art. (read #4 for a big update).
The two founders have had long-lasting client relationships with some of the best companies in the world such as Google and Microsoft.
#4 Yuga Labs
Yuga Labs, the creator of CryptoPunks’ mortal nemesis, Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). However, not anymore! (here comes the big update!!) Yuga Labs announced Friday that they have acquired the rights to the CryptoPunks and Meebits NFT collections from creator Larva Labs. BAYC and CryptoPunks are the two most valuable NFT collections by market cap, and hold a combined worth at a minimum of some $3.6 billion at current prices.
Some big news to share today: Yuga has acquired the CryptoPunks and Meebits collections from @LarvaLabs, and the first thing we’re doing is giving full commercial rights to the NFT holders. Just like we did for BAYC and MAYC owners. pic.twitter.com/lAIKKvoEDj

Anyway, Yuga Labs also owns another set of NFTs called Mutant Ape Yacht Club (MAYC) which is a twist to BAYC. MAYC features 20,000 Mutant Apes created by exposing a vial of Mutant Serum to a Bored Ape. By the same token, it has a collection of companion NFTs, the Bored Ape Kennel Club. All three NFT collections sit on the Ethereum blockchain.
#5 Cool Cats
Cool Cats – The coolest NFTs on the blockchain! A collection for all cat lovers who are also NFT geeks, founded by 4 crypto nerds. It started as an NFT cartoon cat collection and is gradually evolving into Cooltopia. Cooltopia is the Cool Cats ecosystem, including all of the components within Cool Cats that talk to one another: the Cool Cats NFT collection, Cool Pets NFT collection, the gamified and tokenized economy driven by $MILK, the questing system, the Cool Shop and marketplace, etc.
Among the coolest things about Cool Cats is that the company returns 20% of all ETH raised to the community through contests, raffles, etc., because they genuinely want Cool Cats to be a community-driven and owner-centric project.
