Overview:

The Gil Green-directed music video for the 2008 single “I’m So Paid” featured Akon alongside Young Jeezy and Lil Wayne. DJ Khaled and T-Pain made guest appearances, with cameos by Konvict Muzik label artists Kardinal Offishall, Tami Chyn and Bu Thiam, as well as Cash Money’s Lil Chuckee. The video was released on October 30, 2008. The production crew behind “I’m So Paid” teamed with MusicPromoToday to strategically target audiences, build buzz and drive traffic to the music video.

Solution:

MusicPromoToday saw the casting of Konvict Music’s artists as an opportunity to build a massive audience by engaging with the individual fan bases of each artist in the video. Instead of designing a singular social media marketing strategy, MusicPromoToday created a unique viral campaign for each artist, which was received more impactfully with their respective followings. This ultimately created a larger viewership for the “I’m So Paid” music video by bringing multiple fan bases together.

To create further hype for “I’m So Paid”, MusicPromoToday used a teaser for the upcoming music video to incite interest among fans and music lovers the world over. Shortly after its official release, the music video was also featured on record producer Noel ‘Detail’ Fisher’s website, as well as his personal Twitter and Facebook accounts.
